Earn a premium on our cost of capital |

Growth alone is not sufficient in the international competition for capital. What will be important will be to grow profitably.
|
In the future, we will therefore concentrate our funds on those business areas that are attractive and in which we perform well. In doing so, we will continue to use the advantages of our Verbund to work cost efficiently. In all areas we want to earn our cost of capital – and a premium on it too: in other words an appropriate return on the capital we employ. This is why we are introducing EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes) after cost of capital as a key performance indicator. This parameter supports us in our efforts to improve our cost structures, to grow profitably, and to use our capital more sparingly and economically.
