Andreas Kreimeyer was born in Hanover, Germany, in 1955. He studied biology at the Universities of Hanover and Hamburg. After being awarded his doctorate, he joined BASF's Main Laboratory in 1986.

 Dr. Andreas Kreimeyer is responsible for Inorganics; Petrochemicals; Intermediates; Chemicals Research & Engineering; Science Relations & Innovation Management and BASF Future Business. In addition, he is Research Executive Director. Dr. Kreimeyer is also a member of the senate of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech); a member of the Board of Trustees of the Deutsches Museum, Munich; and a member of the Board of Trustees of the periodical "Angewandte Chemie" published by GDCh.
