ReAção Program – an education initiative in Brazil |

In 2006, we launched the educational program "ReAção" at our site in Guaratinguetá, Brazil, together with partners. ReAção Program is aimed at intensifying the teaching of science. The initiative ought to improve the qualification of educators to teach science and chemistry in public schools.
Around 500 teachers receive training courses in the pilot project. The Program already reached about 6.000 students of public schools aged between 6 and 14 years.

The program already produced positive results: Between 2005 and 2007, school dropouts have been reduced by 67%, school failure by 15%. The hours spent by teachers to prepare for class have been increased by 75%. And the attendance of students to science lessons increased by 97%.
