BASF Espaņola receives an European Sustainability Award |

The Jury of the Spanish Section of the European Business Awards for the Environment, edition 2005/06, has awarded BASF Espaņola in the category of Management for the Sustainable Development, for the project relative to its Integrated Management System.
The ceremony of award, presided by the I.R.H. Prince of Asturian, has taken place today, January, 20, on the CEOE's Auditory in Madrid. Karl Peter Bercio, Vice-President and Managing Director of BASF Espaņola, has received the award.
Its Integrated Management System is based on a solid strategic base of sustainability, accompanied by the suitable politics, for a better satisfaction of the stakeholders.

The company is receiving the award thanks to last year's main achievements, which are the following:- Leadership on global efficiency indexes among the several productive emplacements of the BASF Group worldwide, which favors Tarragona's position to attract new inversions.
- Being one of the first companies to obtain, for all its facilities, the environmental authorization from the Catalonia's Public Administration.
- Strong reduction of the environment impact on all its vectors, as a part of its own strategic objectives, as well as the reduction of the environmental incidents.
- Labour accidentability close to "0" and drastic reduction of the contractors company's one.
- Mayor sensibility and implication by the employees on environment and security issues, reflected on its suggestion for improvement system.
- Improvement of the corporative reputation, reflected, among other distinctions, on the acceptation of its corporate report as "in accordance" by the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative)
