BASF China - 2007 Best Corporate Citizenship Award (Dec 2007)

BASF Greater China received the laureate of "2007 Best Corporate Citizenship Award" , given by the 21st Century Business Herald, one of the top business media in China, for the third consecutive year since 2005. A total of 30 domestic and foreign companies got the award for their outstanding achievements and performances in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the largest scale since its inception.
In the past three years, the concept and practice of CSR has experienced a fundamental transformation from a few foreign forerunners to a business and social norm to evaluate and to recognize foreign investors in China. This year, with more competitors and stricter selection criteria BASF Greater China got the award again with highest ranking among all the awardees. This is a public and authoritative recognition to the tremendous efforts of all employees over the past year to live up to commitment of sustainable development.
On top of the basic requirements in the six categories which are defined by the Chang Jiang MBA School, Boston Consulting and Ogilvy PR Group including Corporate Governance and Ethic Value, Employee Relationship, Environment Protection, Social Welfare, Supply Chain Management and Consumer Rights Protection, the focus of this year is on "From Green to Gold", evaluating the ability of an enterprise in turning CSR into competitive edges.
The competition between international and domestic firms demonstrates the ongoing trend and the increasing quality of business activities regarding sustainable development in China.
