This segment combines the operating divisions Inorganics, Petrochemicals and Intermediates. They sell their products to customers in the pharmaceutical, construction, textile and automotive industries and supply other BASF segments with chemicals for the manufacture of higher value products. We produce a broad range of basic chemicals and higher value products at our integrated production facilities - the Verbund - in Europe, Asia and North America.
Product Range
The Inorganics portfolio ranges from inorganic basic chemicals to glues and specialties such as electronic chemicals for the semiconductor and flat screen industries.
With its broad range of basic chemicals, the Petrochemicals division forms the basis of our value-adding chains. In addition, it produces solvents and plasticizers for the chemical and plastics industries.
The Intermediates segment comprises products that are used as starting materials for products such as detergents, plastics, textile fibers, paints and coatings as well as pharmaceuticals.
