Unlike the UV-A absorbers available to date, BASF’s new product Uvinul® A Plus provides reliable protection against aging effects, wrinkles and skin cancer over a longer period. It is easy to combine with other organic and inorganic UV filters in sunscreens and other cosmetic products.
 Benefit for BASF:
In January 2005 BASF has received the European approval by the EU Commission for its new UVA-I-Filter Uvinul® A Plus for use of up to 10 % in sunscreen products. Growing awareness of the harmful effects of UV radiation is leading to increased use of sunscreens. BASF can meet this increasing demand and expand its sales opportunities.
